German Gate is a Lebanese company operating out of Berlin. Every month, we ship a container from Berlin to Beirut and deliver the items directly to your family's home in Lebanon. Best of all, the service runs from your doorstep in Germany to theirs in Lebanon—a level of convenience you won't find with many others.
How does the service work?
It’s very simple. You have two options:
First: Bring your packages to us yourself at this address: Komturstraße 18B, 12099 Berlin. You drop them off, we process everything with you, you make the payment, and you leave with peace of mind.
Second—and this is something many of our customers love—you don’t have to leave your home. Just message us on WhatsApp, and we’ll come to pick up the boxes from your location in Berlin. This service costs just €10 per address; it covers however many boxes you have in a single pickup.
What about the boxes?
We offer three standard sizes:
- 1. Large: Dimensions 60 x 38 x 38 cm; costs €60.
- 2. Medium: Dimensions 40 x 30 x 30 cm; costs €40.
- 3. XXL: Dimensions 75 x 42 x 41 cm; costs €75.
If you have your own box, that’s no problem! We accept any sturdy box of any size. As for weight, there is no limit for pickups in Berlin—the most important thing is that the carton is secure and sturdy.
Please note that each box requires an accompanying written list of contents; this is a customs requirement.
How does the box reach your family in Lebanon?
Shipping is done by sea, meaning the boxes are loaded into a container and transported from Hamburg to the Port of Beirut. There are two ways for the shipment to reach your family's home:
First, they can pick it up themselves from our warehouse in Tyre (Sour), South Lebanon. Second, we can deliver it directly to their doorstep; this option costs just $5 per box. This applies to any location in Lebanon—Beirut, the North, the Bekaa, or the South—all at the same rate.
How long does the shipment take?
There is no guaranteed, down-to-the-minute timeframe for sea freight. We ship via LCL (Less than Container Load)—meaning a shared container—and the container doesn't depart until it is full. This can sometimes cause a slight delay in the sailing date.
The clock starts ticking once the ship leaves Hamburg. The sea voyage itself takes 21 to 25 days, provided everything goes smoothly. Then comes the customs clearance stage at the Port of Beirut—a process no one can fully control; it could take two weeks, or it could take longer.
Realistically, you should estimate about 6 to 8 weeks from the time the ship leaves Hamburg until the container arrives at our warehouse in Tyre. I cannot give you an exact day; if any company gives you a specific date for sea freight, know that they are misleading you.

We do not offer insurance for shipped goods, nor do we provide guaranteed delivery times for sea freight. It is important to be aware of this before shipping, especially if you are sending highly valuable items.
