Shipping Parcels from Berlin to Lebanon via Sea Freight – German Gate

Do you live in Berlin and wish to send boxes, goods, or personal belongings to your family in Lebanon? German Gate offers a regular monthly sea freight service from Berlin to Southern Lebanon, covering the entire journey from your doorstep in Germany to your family's doorstep in Lebanon.

What kind of sea freight service do we offer?

We operate using the Less than Container Load (LCL) system. Containers depart monthly from the Port of Hamburg to the Port of Beirut via Maersk or CMA CGM shipping lines. This system allows us to offer competitive rates to individuals and families wishing to ship moderate quantities without the need to rent an entire container.

How can you hand over your boxes in Berlin?

We offer two flexible options to suit your needs.

Option 1 – Direct Drop-off at Our Warehouse: You can bring your boxes in person to our Berlin facility at the following address: Komturstraße 18B, 12099 Berlin. There are no complicated procedures and no need to visit a post office; we simply record your details and the recipient's information, and we handle the rest.

Option 2 – Home Pickup Service: If you cannot come to us, we will come to you. We offer a pickup service from your address in Berlin for €10 per address, regardless of the number of boxes. A flat rate with complete flexibility.

Box Sizes and Prices

We offer three standard sizes, but we also accept your own boxes of any size, provided they are sturdy and suitable for shipping.

The medium box measures 40 x 30 x 30 cm and costs €40.

The large box measures 60 x 38 x 38 cm and costs €60.

The XXL box measures 75 x 42 x 41 cm and costs €75.

There is no weight limit for shipments from Berlin. We charge based on the box's size rather than its weight, giving you the freedom to pack as much as you like.

Additional fees: A €10 surcharge applies to boxes containing DM or Rossmann products. (Skin care products)

Mandatory Packlist: You must include a written list of contents for each box; this is essential for customs clearance and cannot be omitted.

How long does shipment delivery take?

We believe in complete transparency with our customers, so we want to be upfront about this: sea shipping times are estimates, not guarantees.

Here is the reality of the process: When we announce a container for a specific month, we spend about two weeks at the end of that month palletizing the goods and preparing the container. Once the ship departs the Port of Hamburg, the actual voyage begins, taking between 21 and 25 days under normal conditions. Next comes the customs clearance stage at the Port of Beirut—a variable process that can take anywhere from two to three weeks, as this port is considered one of the most complex in the region.

Consequently, the total duration from the ship's departure is typically six to eight weeks under normal circumstances, though it can sometimes take longer.

Certain factors beyond our control may delay the shipment—such as a container failing to fill on schedule (thereby postponing the sailing date), vessel rerouting or stops at intermediate ports, or customs delays at the Port of Beirut.

What can we not guarantee?

We do not provide cargo insurance for shipments, nor do we guarantee specific delivery dates for sea freight. We recommend obtaining private insurance when shipping high-value items.

What happens in Lebanon?

All our shipments arrive at our warehouse in the city of Tyre (Sour), southern Lebanon. From there, the recipient has two options: either pick up the package personally from the warehouse for free, or have it delivered to any address in Lebanon for just $5 per box—regardless of whether the recipient is located in the North, the South, the Bekaa Valley, or Beirut.
